HAWK 75N โมโนเพลนโลหะแบบแรกของไทย
The Hawk 75N is a Curtiss Model 75 Mohawk aircraft ordered by Thailand. It was designed and manufactured by the Curtis-Wright Corporation.
(Curtiss-Wright Corporation), whose Model 75 series airplanes were one of the most successful export airplanes of the 1930s.
As a result of manufacturers being able to produce aircraft tailored to customer needs, the Model 75 series was ordered to serve in the air forces of many countries.
Such as France, China, Argentina, the Netherlands, Norway, Thailand, etc. In the US, the Hawk 75 will be called the P-36 Hawk.

For Thailand, we ordered Hawk 75 aircraft from the United States and received delivery in 1937 in the amount of 12 aircraft, of which we ordered the N model.
It will have unique features such as a non-foldable wheelbase or a 23 mm air cannon from Denmark's Madsen.

The Thai Hawk 75N was first used during the Indochina conflict between Thailand and the Vichy French government, where it was tasked with providing escort for bomber and attack aircraft.
which entered the French territory and also clashed with the Vichy French fighter planes such as the Moran-Sonier AMAS 406 fighter planes.

After Thailand became an ally of Japan, the Hawk 75N performed several anti-Allied air missions over Thai airspace.
Such as the B-24 and B-29 bombers.

The Hawk 75N served with the Royal Thai Air Force throughout World War II until it was decommissioned in 1949.
Today, only one Hawk 75N remains and is on display at the National Air and Space Museum.
